                                    Varsity Head Coach: John Carlson

 John Carlson is in his fifteenth year as Skutt Catholic varsity girls head coach where his record is 207-50. Under his leadership, the Skyhawks have made fourteen straight State Tournament appearances. Carlson, the 2009 Nebraska Coaches Association Soccer Coach of the Year, has led Skutt to Class B State Championships in 2006, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2013.  His 2005, 2008 and 2012 teams finished as Class B runner up.  

Carlson, who has a Master's Degree in Education, coached at Nebraska Wesleyan College from 1999-2001. In 1999, he led Wesleyan to an undefeated season and was named the Nebraska Intercollegiate Coach of the Year.  In 2000, Carlson led Wesleyan to its first ever NCAA Division lll National Tournament appearance.  Carlson's overall record of 34-4-4 is the highest winning percentage in Nebraska Wesleyan men's soccer history.  In 2001, Carlson took over the College of Saint Mary's soccer program.  He guided the Flames to three consecutive postseason appearances and his 2001 team made it to the NAIA Elite Eight.  He was named Region Four and Midland Collegiate Athletic Conference Coach of the Year for his efforts.  His career record at CSM was 45-13-7.

                                  Varsity Assistant Coach: Tawnya Mann

      

Tawnya Mann has over 13 years of coaching experience and currently holds a USSF "C" license.  A former co-captain at Iowa State she began coaching high school, club and ODP after graduating.  She was also a volunteer assistant for the University of Arizona as well GrandView College.  Most recently Tawnya and her family moved here from Des Moines, IA where she was the head coach for Dowling Catholic girls soccer team for the past 7 years.  In her spare time she and her husband, Casey, are busy with their four children, Keagan, McKenna, Kellen and Kennedy.

 

 

                                   Varsity Assistant Coach: Rachel Twist

       

Rachel (Fuchs) Twist is a 2006 graduate of Skutt Catholic.  Twist, who teaches Spanish at Skutt Catholic, played collegiately at Wayne State College.  Twist is a goalkeeper trainer and coach for the Elkhorn Soccer Club.  She was named the Nebraska Competitive Coach of the Year and the Region Two Competitive Coach of the Year for 2013.  Twist was one of six finalists for the US Soccer Competitive Coach of the Year in 2013.
